Daniele Watts’ apology letter to LAPD

“In­sin­cere and pass­ive ag­gress­ive,” was the judge’s opin­ion of let­ters of apo­logy sub­mit­ted by act­ress Daniele Watts and her boy­friend as part of a plea deal offered earli­er this year. The couple made head­lines after com­plain­ing that they had been un­fairly treated by po­lice re­spond­ing to a re­port that two people were hav­ing sex in a car last Septem­ber.

A judge sen­tenced the couple to 15 days of com­munity labor and two years of pro­ba­tion after find­ing the apo­lo­gies in­suf­fi­cient.
