Here are in­mate wages as set by Cali­for­nia reg­u­la­tions. The state had ar­gued that al­low­ing min­im­um cus­tody pris­on­ers to be re­leased early, as ordered by fed­er­al courts, would shrink an im­port­ant labor pool for pris­on jobs.
