Newspapers challenge federal seal in Yee case

The Los Angeles Times and other media companies on Monday asked to be allowed to challenge federal prosecutors who want to seal evidence in their case against Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) and Chinatown figure Raymond Chow. The government seeks a protective order that would forbid defense lawyers from revealing, until trial, even evidence of the innocence of their clients.
