Port of L.A. waivers to China Shipping terminal

Let­ters from the Port of Los Angeles waiv­ing re­quire­ments that ships at the China Ship­ping ter­min­al plug in­to elec­tri­city while docked to re­duce air pol­lu­tion. The port had agreed to re­quire the use of shore power and oth­er emis­sions-cut­ting meas­ures as part of a leg­al set­tle­ment with en­vir­on­ment­al­ists and homeown­ers who sued over the ex­pan­sion of the ter­min­al.
