Coverage of WWII refugees

At the close of World War II, hun­dreds of thou­sands of con­cen­tra­tion camp sur­viv­ors and oth­er Nazi vic­tims took flight. Mil­lions of oth­er people were also on the move. They in­cluded Ger­mans flee­ing or ex­pelled from east­ern Europe, and people of every oth­er na­tion­al­ity in that re­gion seek­ing to es­cape the newly in­stalled Com­mun­ist gov­ern­ments.
