    State Controller’s Audit of Montebello

    The Cali­for­nia State Con­trol­ler’s Of­fice on Nov. 1 re­leased the res­ults of the third out of four audits of the city of Mon­te­bello. This audit ex­amined the city’s use of state and fed­er­al funds. Aud­it­ors found that an en­gin­eer­ing firm at the cen­ter of a fed­er­al bribery in­vest­ig­a­tion awar­ded about $2 mil­lion in con­tracts to it­self un­der a ques­tion­able ar­range­ment with the city.
