UMass procedures on admission of Iranian Students

In an online statement dated February 6, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst said it no longer accepts Iranian nationals for admission to graduate programs in chemical, computer and mechanical engineering or the natural sciences to avoid any violation of U.S. sanctions. The policy has since been criticized by an Iranian American group which argues it may be discriminatory.
