From the archives: 11 year-old Natalie Cole duets with her father Nat King Cole

In a 1961 show at the Greek Theat­er, Nat­alie Cole, 11, took the stage with her fath­er, the le­gendary sing­er Nat King Cole. The per­form­ance marked the first men­tion of Nat­alie Cole in The Times. The re­view called the pair­ing “a de­light.”

Nat­alie Cole went on to be­come a not­able per­former in her own right. She died in Los Angeles on Dec. 31, 2015 of con­gest­ive heart fail­ure.
