Caltrans roof costs
The California Department of Transportation paid for expensive repairs — in some cases more than $100,000 — to roofs on houses the department may one day bulldoze. At least one of the houses was vacant. Private roofing contractors who reviewed documentation of the jobs said the costs look excessive, a state lawmaker has promised an investigation.
