FBI monitors activists after Salazar dies

This in­tel­li­gence memo, filed by FBI of­fi­cials from El Paso, was one of sev­er­al such re­ports that were gen­er­ated in cit­ies such as Los Angeles and Den­ver in the af­ter­math of the news­man’s killing. Re­cords show that au­thor­it­ies were con­cerned that vi­ol­ence would break­out at vi­gils com­mem­or­at­ing Salaz­ar’s slay­ing. The El Paso event, like oth­ers, turned out to be a peace­ful protest.
