Federal Court refuses to grant stay of Virginia gay marriages

A fed­er­al court re­fused to grant a stay on gay mar­riages in Vir­gin­ia on Wed­nes­day, mean­ing couples could be­gin to wed as early as Aug. 20th un­less the U.S. Su­preme Court in­ter­venes.
