Former LAPD detective lawsuit against the city

A vet­er­an LAPD de­tect­ive who was fired for mak­ing ra­cially charged re­marks dur­ing a train­ing ses­sion has filed a fed­er­al civil rights law­suit against the city, al­leging he was wrong­fully fired be­cause of his race. Frank Lyga, who is su­ing for his job back, al­leges he was dis­crim­in­ated against be­cause he was a “white po­lice of­ficer who was wrong­fully per­ceived to be ra­cist.”
