Heal the Bay 2011 Beach Report Card

Wa­ter qual­ity at Los Angeles County beaches worsened between 2010 and 2011 and wa­ter qual­ity statewide dipped slightly but re­mained “very good to ex­cel­lent,” ac­cord­ing the an­nu­al Beach Re­port Card re­leased Wed­nes­day, May 25 by the en­vir­on­ment­al group Heal the Bay. The re­port gives hun­dreds of Cali­for­nia beaches let­ter grades based on weekly state-man­dated tests that probe the wa­ter for bac­teria. Read more »
