Inspection report on Exide battery plant

A Cali­for­nia De­part­ment of Tox­ic Sub­stances Con­trol doc­u­ment de­tails a series of 2013 in­spec­tions of the Ex­ide Tech­no­lo­gies bat­tery re­cyc­ling plant in Ver­non that found trail­ers leak­ing li­quid with haz­ard­ous levels of lead. A hand­writ­ten note on the re­port says “DTSC is con­cerned that leak­ing from the con­tain­ers while on pub­lic roads is an on-go­ing prob­lem, and this is­sue needs to be ad­dressed im­me­di­ately.”
