Jacqueline Kennedy letter to Matilda Loeser Calnan

Jac­queline Kennedy was the first to hang any of the Cez­anne paint­ings in the White House. In the spring of 1961 she in­vited the donor’s daugh­ter, who lived in Europe, to come see them in the Green Room. Loeser’s grand­daugh­ter, Phil­ippa Cal­nan, came the next month in her moth­er’s stead.
