Judge finds probable cause to charge officer who shot Tamir Rice

A Clev­e­land mu­ni­cip­al judge ruled there is prob­able cause to charge the po­lice of­ficer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice with murder. While the rul­ing was lauded by act­iv­ists in the city, it will likely have little im­pact on the de­cision to pro­sec­ute Of­ficer Timothy Loehmann, ex­perts have said. The case, which is be­ing re­viewed by the Cuyahoga County Pro­sec­utor’s Of­fice, will still be presen­ted to a grand jury.
