NCAA, five major conferences sued over scholarships

Former West Vir­gin­ia run­ning back Shawne Al­ston sued the NCAA and five ma­jor con­fer­ences Wed­nes­day, al­leging they col­luded to fix the value of ath­let­ic schol­ar­ships and pre­vent them from cov­er­ing the ac­tu­al cost of at­tend­ance.
