Plea for approval of homeless housing project

Three blue chip Los Angeles groups that ad­voc­ate for home­less hous­ing pleaded for Coun­cil­man Jose Huiz­ar’s sup­port for a pro­pos­al to build 49 units of hous­ing for men­tally ill home­less people in Boyle Heights. Huiz­ar sided with the own­er of the next door shop­ping cen­ter who ap­pealed the pro­jects en­vir­on­ment­al clear­ance.
