On Nov. 4, 1964, The Times re­por­ted that Pres­id­ent John­son was elec­ted in a land­slide and that George Bush was un­suc­cess­ful in his bid to un­seat Sen. Ral­ph W. Yar­bor­ough (D-Texas).
