Princess Margaret marries Antony Armstrong-Jones

The wed­ding of Queen Eliza­beth’s sis­ter Prin­cess Mar­garet to Ant­ony Arm­strong-Jones in 1960 got front page treat­ment in the Los Angeles Times. Arm­strong-Jones, a com­mon­er who was gran­ted the title Earl of Snow­don by the queen in 1961, died Fri­day at the age of 86. His mar­riage to Prin­cess Mar­garet ended in di­vorce in 1978.
