Read the DA memo on claims of illegal conduct in L.A. sheriff’s election

A Los Angeles County dis­trict at­tor­ney’s memo said the of­fice in­vest­ig­ated a claim that Sher­iff Jim Mc­Don­nell used a sur­rog­ate to pres­sure one of his rivals, Todd Ro­gers, to drop out of the sher­iff’s race in 2014. The memo said there was no evid­ence to cor­rob­or­ate the claim.
