KMEX requests investigation

A num­ber of the ques­tions that still cloud Salaz­ar’s killing began emer­ging with­in days of his Aug. 29, 1970, slay­ing. On Septem­ber 2, ex­ec­ut­ives at KMEX-TV urged FBI Dir­ect­or J. Edgar Hoover in a tele­gram to launch an in­vest­ig­a­tion to help re­solve “dis­crep­an­cies” between ac­counts by Sher­iff’s depu­ties and eye­wit­nesses at the Sil­ver Dol­lar bar.
