At­tor­neys for Shelly Ster­ling asked the Los Angeles Su­per­i­or Court on Wed­nes­day to af­firm her sale of the Clip­pers to Steve Ballmer and ex­pressed worry the Ster­ling Fam­ily Trust could ex­per­i­ence a “sig­ni­fic­ant loss” if Don­ald Ster­ling was al­lowed to block the deal. A Ju­ly hear­ing was later set on the mat­ter, in­clud­ing wheth­er Ster­ling is men­tally com­pet­ent to make de­cisions for the trust.
