When an American Indian tribe proposed a casino in New York’s Catskills region, Donald Trump – trying to squash competition for his Atlantic City casinos – secretly launched an attack campaign. Trump’s longtime consultant, Roger Stone, created a “pro-family, anti-gambling” front group called the New York Institute for Law and Society to hide Trump’s role – but Trump himself signed off on all the ads, some of which were denounced as racist by the tribe.
