U.S. Sues Standard & Poor’s over mortgage bond ratings

Justice De­part­ment com­plaint against Stand­ard & Poor’s Corp., al­leging the cred­it-rat­ing com­pany helped cause the fin­an­cial crisis by mis­lead­ing in­vestors with in­ac­cur­ate cred­it rat­ings for bonds backed by subprime mort­gages.
