Xcelerator: Accident investigation reports

Knott’s Berry Farm’s Xcel­er­at­or roller coast­er gen­er­ated 20 in­jury re­ports filed with the state De­part­ment of In­dus­tri­al Re­la­tions from 2007 to 2012. The ac­ci­dent re­port for Sept. 16, 2009, de­scribes what happened when a cable on the coast­er broke.

Redaction: The state Department of Industrial Relations redacted the names, addresses and phone numbers of all accident victims from its reports starting in 2011. For accident reports dated before 2011, The Times has redacted the names of minors and the addresses and phone numbers of all other accident victims.
